I arrived on the hazy yet sunny day to a secluded residence in the woods. Surrounded by trees and ferns and complete with gorgeous pond right smack dab in the middle, it was the perfect setting for Jackie and Chris’s quiet and intimate wedding. I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph it. Chris could let you know how obsessed I was with how they looked at one another. (see below:)
I’m not usually a “detailographer” but get ready for a boat load of goodness down below. I was completely blown away by this venue, it exceeded my expectations in every way. If you are looking for an amazing venue in the woods with an awesome house to stay inside for the weekend, you should definitely go and check out Juliane James Place. It really was quite the retreat.

I woke up the morning of Zach and Mary’s wedding, reviewed the forecast for the 100th time, and I’m not going to lie, I was scared shitless. 100% rain, ALL DAY. That is any photographers nightmare, especially when the plan is to go around the city for photos outdoors without coverage. And this wasn’t just any rain. It was downpour/20 mile per hour winds rain. Flooding rain. “Ouch this hurts my face” rain.
But this wedding is some of my most favorite work I have ever created for a couple. We looked at the sky and said “suck it” (see post below for a VERY fitting image) and still made as much magic as we could. Mary let her dress down, they both kept smiles on their faces the entire time, and she took my advice that the dirtier the dress, the better the photos.
So much thanks to such an amazing couple for being so laid back and not letting a gloomy day get them down. I truly believe that the rain made their day even more special and unique then it would have been if it were perfectly sunny out. I am so honored I got to be a part of it!

I traveled to Northern California for Veronica & Travis’s amazing wedding at the Twenty Mile House. The venue was nestled in the woods near Graeagle, and surrounded by amazing bluffs, trees, and many creeks. Their day was so calm yet celebratory, and I just got the feeling of such closeness from everyone for the entire day. Their vision of a cozy, woodsy, wedding with burgundy and pine colors came true. I’m so fortunate I was invited to document their day!

Enjoy a 20-ish minute session with your family, loved ones, or pet(s)!
The session includes 20+ edited images (but let’s be real I always way over deliver on images) as well as a pin code to download the high resolution files from an online gallery. Professional prints may be ordered from this gallery as a discount if desired.
Although I love to focus on the love and natural emotion between a family and loved ones, I’ll have a black and white teepee with greenery for an adorable photo op, as well as some props like stools and chairs for the kids.
Exact location TBD but will be somewhere near Lake Nokomis!
Only a few spots left!
