I woke up the morning of Zach and Mary’s Minnesota wedding, reviewed the forecast for the 100th time, and I’m not going to lie, I was scared shitless. 100% rain, ALL DAY. That is any wedding photographer’s nightmare, especially when the plan is to go around the city for photos outdoors without coverage. And this wasn’t just any rain. It was downpour/20 mile per hour winds rain. Flooding rain. “Ouch this hurts my face” rain.
But this wedding is some of my most favorite work I have ever created for a couple. We looked at the sky and said “suck it” (see post below for a VERY fitting image) and still made as much magic as we could. Mary let her dress down, they both kept smiles on their faces the entire time, and she took my advice that the dirtier the dress, the better the wedding photos.
So much thanks to such an amazing couple for being so laid back and not letting a gloomy day get them down. I truly believe that the rain made their day even more special and unique then it would have been if it were perfectly sunny out. I am so honored I got to be a part of it!
